Club History and Information

From a Small Acorn to Senior Triathlon Club
White Oak Triathlon Club was established in 1988, and is one of the oldest Senior BTF Clubs in the Country.
It was founded by a small group of Leisure Attendants working at White Oak Leisure Centre, one in particular persuaded the others that it was a good idea to swim then get out the water and get on your bike while still wet then finish with a run no matter how cold it was outside, surprisingly enough the club soon grew from strength to strength.

Triathlon England Affiliate Club
Dartford and White Oak Triathlon Club is affiliated to Triathlon England, the national governing body for Triathlon in England.

The whole event is based around the White Oak Leisure Centre with the bike course going out through Swanley Village, Farningham, Hawley, Dartford and Bexley.

This year it attracted a field of approximately 300 competitors.

Governance
The club has always been run by a small committee and would not exist if it wasn’t for their efforts, In November 2012 the Club reconstituted itself as a Community Amateur Club, and this is the first step in the Clubs development strategy in support of BTF’s legacy vison to build upon the London 2012. The new constitution will enable the club to work towards BTF Star Club Mark quality accreditation; it will also enable the club to work with various Regional partners and the Developers of the “Bridge Dartford” to establish a permanent training base at the Lake and further develop the lake for the good of Triathlon.
